KARINA SIEGMUND - THE OCEANWEAVER
I am Karina Siegmund, The Ocean Weaver.
From my studio on the rugged western coast of Norway, I create woven art inspired by the ocean and the natural world around me. Living by the North Atlantic Sea, I draw endless inspiration from the coastal landscapes, the ever-changing light, the wild weather, and the deep cultural heritage of the Stad Peninsula. My work brings the essence of nature into your life, offering a sacred space for reflection, connection, and renewal—just like the ocean itself.
I craft more than textiles — I weave stories. My woven pieces are ambassadors of the sea, bringing its beauty, power, and fragility into your hands. They are artisan statements: signature fashion, ceremonial clothing, and conscious, spiritual art woven by my hands in my remote studio. Every thread holds the intention to awaken your connection to the ocean and its vital ecosystem.
I am a weaver, a storyteller, and an artist of the soul. I weave for a world where nature and humanity coexist in harmony.

BACKGROUND
Being german, living in a remote corner of the world, close to nature, grants a bird’s eye view on urban and global issues. Seeing weaving as one of the original technologies in ancient history, I consciously bring the weaving legacy forward, through our time to the next. Textiles have always been part of our cultural heritage, and always will, functionally and in terms of identity.
My art and design works give transparent insides into all aspects of production, that I transmit by storytelling - a way of living by the sea. A conscious way of living in todays challenging times of climate crises and pandemic, offering an alternative to todays fast life and consumption model based upon exploitation of human and material resources.
