A SACRED SPACE

With sheep grazing freely, surfers enjoying the heavy sea and saltwater in the air, silence is to be found walking in the midst of a rich cultural heritage. Here the rough nature, stormy weather and fast changing light, poses an endless catalogue of inspiration, forming the essence of my woven fibre art and design works. To be a weaver has become as holistic quest upon how to live life.

I am concerned with how people interact with their social and natural environment. How we relate to nature is of great interest to us, on a personal level and in society. Ultimately, our relationship with nature impacts our very existence. By mediating nature through art, I strive to provide a free space for everyone - a mental space where a person can get a break, and possibly reflect upon his/her identity and community. Making art widely distributed and readily available, it is my hope that it will nurture the best of human nature.

Here, by the sea, in the midst of of silence, I have found my sacred space from which I create.
A space you can revisit through my art, which will let you keep the ocean close to your heart.
